DoorDash had 19,300 employees in the world, as of December 31, 2023. These numbers also include the employees of Wolt, a fully-owned subsidiary of DoorDash.
The company nearly doubled its headcount in 2021 and 2022, but increased the workforce by just 15 percent in 2023, indicating a cautious approach to further expanding its payroll. Even in absolute numbers, it added 2,500 employees (net) in 2023, which is lower than both 2021 and 2022.
In 2022, during which the company added 8,200 employees, the highest number in recent years, the online food delivery company also laid off 1,250 employees towards the end of the year, marking an interesting turn of events.
The annual revenue per employee for the company increased by 14 percent in 2023.
